A Real Post
I thought I should take the time to make a real post. Not just a quiz result or a brief comment to make Matt laugh. It's been a busy weekend. I spent most of either working on code for work or watching football. I know, I know. Those of you who have actually read any of my blog before know that I swore off football after the Florida - Tennessee game. Did I say game? I meant robbery, miscarriage of justice. Bitter? No, I'm not bitter, but I digress.
I did watch football. I enjoyed watching football. I enjoyed seeing the Tennessee - Auburn game. It was a great game. I am by no means an Auburn fan, but I could not thought of a more deserving team to lose, and lose big, at home, to a conference rival, than Tennessee. It made me smile.
I was also very happy last night watching the North Western - Ohio State game. Why you ask? Why would I care? Easy, Ohio State plays dirty. Last year, or year before, an Ohio State player was clearly seen on camera choking another player at the bottom of a pile, and there coach, and everyone acted as if it was no big deal. Cheating is bad enough, al-la Tennessee refs, but just plain playing dirty is even worse. I also think they got some very, very lucky calls to beat Miami for the National title a couple of year ago. On top of all that, they've won so many games in overtime and by such close margins, their luck just had to run out. I'm glad it did.
The only thing that could have made yesterday any better would have been for LSU to beat Georgia. I think that would have helped the Gators more, but it doesn't really matter. As always an FSU loss would be great, but lets not get greedy.
I suppose this post seals my fate of the banner adds at the bottom of my page always displaying a link to football tickets, but so be it. Eventually the season will end and I'll find some other meaningless topic to talk about. Maybe I'll get around to restoring my 57 Buick, or the stereo in my Z28. Who knows. Maybe I'll rant about monkeys until every banner add has a monkey on it. Long story. Time to eat, hopefully I'll have some time to post more later.
On a side note, I saw on TV this morning that the Captain Kangaroo show debuted 49 years ago today. It's also the anniversary of the OJ Simpson trial verdict. Something to think about.
A Kangroo and a court trial.
