Train Spotting, Literally
Not like the movie, I mean literally spotting the train, as I cross the tracks. It was a ways off, but I think I should take it at an good sign that I didn't get caught behind the train. When I crossed the tracks it looked fairly close and I expected the gates to lower any moment. Hopefully not on top of me. Well, two cycles of the traffic light passed the tracks later, and I finally see the light at the crossing start to blink. I could see the train as I drove, it was long, and slow, and I fear that had I been a few minutes later, I might still be sitting at the crossing.
The crossing I mention, up until lately has doubled as a ramp for Evil Knievel. Not literally this time, but you know what I mean. I still remember the first time a friend of mine came to my house and I forgot to warm him about that crossing. He got there, barely. They've recently smoothed them out some. Still not something I want to cross at a high rate of speed, but much better.
Ok, enough talk of trains. Things to do, as always.
