Monday, Hot Monday

It's hot. It's been very hot all weekend. Lucky me, I get to enjoy the heat even more in a hot car factory in the middle of nowhere. Air conditioning, they don't believe in no stinking air conditioning.

In house news, there is none. We continue to give away papers in the little tube in front of our house, but so far not the steady stream of phone calls I'd hope for. I have to continue to remind myself, I'm not in a hurry to sell. I want to live in my house as long as we can. It's not going to be fun having to move into an apartment with the pets. Still I'm torn between wanting it to sell, and not wanting to move. What a position.

Did You Know ET was Released 23 Years Ago Today?

Neither did I. Just trivia. Although according to the radio Drew Barrymore has spoken with Steven Spielberg about making an ET 2. Sad that the first thought in my mind and the radio Dj is that they just made that, it was War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. I guess they could have called it ET 2, He's Back and He's Pissed.

On the house note we have a for sale by owner sign in the front yard. 2 hours after we put it up someone called to see the house. Now yesterday another phone call to see the house. 2 days, 2 calls. Not bad I guess. I'm hoping for the best.

A New Record

We set a record here. The farthest ever inland tropical storm warning. How cool it that? I thought I had left those behind when I moved from Florida. My hope of the storm knocking out power at my office so I could have a day off fell short. Pesky responsive utility workers.

In house news, one of the two sale pending houses right by mine sold, the other lost their sale pending sign, so it's back on the market. It's the much more expensive of the two. We have all of our floors down, now just a little bit of trim work and we will be done. Now we just have to clean up the mess we made making repairs to house. It should be officially on the market soon. I'm still trying to decide if we want to try and sell it ourselves or get a realtor right away.

What to Say

I have nothing to say. Writers all over the world are filling pages right now about the bombing in London, the upcoming hurricane, the vacancy on the supreme court and all sorts of other important issues. I don't care. It's a Friday morning. My coffee is making, so I'm good. I'm really hoping it's a good day and I have a good weekend. Let's hope so.

The Agony of the Foot

My foot is feeling much better. My nail hole is healing nicely. Now if only arm felt better, where I got the tetanus shot, I'd be all good. Hopefully we should be able to finish up the last of our home repairs this weekend and have our house on the market starting Monday. I think we are ready. It feels like we have fixed, replace everything in the entire house. Things are looking very new and very nice. I'm not certain if I want it sell fast and just get it over with or what. I'm not sure I'm all that anxious to move into an apartment. I must say having no yard work to worry with for a while would be ok, but I think I'll miss being able to go out in the backyard.

Picking Hardwood

Sara and I went yesterday and picked out all of the carpet, paint, floors, and things for our new house. It was fun, it was tiring, it was expensive, etc, etc. We are going to have a great house. I really do feel that it is going to be awesome. I'm anxious to have it done, but that will be January. Right now we still have dirt and not much else. I'm starting to picture our house on our dirt. One day soon.

The long weekend did give us a chance to get a few more things done around the house. Sara proved she can peel up flooring. She got the bathroom done pretty much by herself, and that is not easy work. Thankfully we have part of the new floor down and a working toilet once again. Those are nice to have.

I Nailed That One

Or should I say I nailed my foot. I should have taken that nap. Instead we got the carpet out of our office and went to dump it. It was there my foot found the large nail sticking up.

If you ever have the though to pierce your foot, don't. It hurts very bad and makes walking very difficult. What can I say, it was a fun 4th.

Nap Time

I know, we should be busy cleaning the house. I have a headache and Sara is asleep on the couch. I guess we are not getting much done. It is just so hot. Every time I carry a box outside I feel like I am going to have a heat stroke.

I think the smell of paint fumes may be getting to us. We've painted 2 rooms, with 2 left to go. Things are looking much better to me. I must say I can see progress, but I know there is so much left to go. Hopefully I'll see the light at the end of this cleaning and fixing tunnel soon.

I think I want to take a hint from the cats and take a nap myself.
