Random Thoughts From the Far Side

I've had this thought in my head about a post I've wanted to write. It was this much too mushy thought about the world my son is going to be born into. It's ran from end to end. I've thought of things as serious as war, disease, terrorist and like to simple things like name brands of cars that are out of existence before he's even born.

With the heavy thoughts of the first items, it seems silly to even think about the other things, but I think the other things are what make me feel older. One that comes to mind is Southtrust Bank. It was purchased a while back and now the name is pretty much gone. Well, that was bank I had in the small town I grew up in. That was bank I used when I first moved to Huntsville. Now, it will be that bank that doesn't even exist when the kid is born. His entire life will be lived without such things as Oldsmobile, Cingular, Bellsouth, or Southtrust. Just random thoughts, but I can already see the conversation years from that will really make me feel old.

Like I said, it was random scattered thoughts, much like a conversation with Paris Hilton, except I kept my top on.

Drunken Lawn Darts and Other Fun Party Games

Seems as if it is soon to be baby shower time. Kid's not even born yet and he needs a shower. Is this hygiene thing getting out of hand or what?

It appears we are going to be trendy and have a co-ed shower. Does that sound dirty or what? Sounds like an excuse for Sara not to be the center of everything, just a hunch. Either that or it sounds like an excuse to have a BBQ, complete with presents. Which when you put it that way doesn't sound all bad.

Stranger Than My CD Collection

I may have found a radio station with a more bizarre choice of music than I would put on a CD. I've always had a wide range of music that I listen to. I have CD's that will have classical, country, rap and alternative on the same CD. I never thought I'd find a radio station that had the same mix, but I think Bob has done it. Bob, that's the name of the station. I listened to 80's on the way in this morning and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" was playing on the way home. I like it.

Happy Birthday

Today is Sara's birthday. So, happy birthday.

Reminds me, I should have gotten her a card or something. Maybe I can stop by the 7-11 on the way home and pick up something by the register.

Just kidding. Do you think I'd live if I tried that? I somehow don't think the classic plastic red rose and air freshener would suffice. If they had something dark chocolate though...

At Least She Drives a "Safe" Car

If you are going to drive like a maniac at least drive a safe car, like the Volvo SUV that tried to run me off the road and then to rear end me down Hughes road. I suppose a Hummer might be a better choice, it would give you a better chance of going over someone.

I could tell she was going to a bad driver as I watched her turn onto the highway, no turn signal, and rather erratic lane changes, she was hard to spot I tell you. Then the entire way down Hughes road she is on the bumper of my car. I'm already going about 45 in a 40. Yes, Madison police, people speed on Hughes Road, please ignore that fact. Anyway, that's as fast as I can go without worrying about a ticket or running over the car in front of me. I guess that was not fast enough for her.

My only joy out of this was the fact I can downshift quickly and slow down without touching my brakes, ha, serves her right. It also got her to back off some, but I could see her in the rear view mirror, she was still wanting to go much faster and still driving as bad as ever.

Why all the rush? She had to get her small child who is the back seat to the school to meet some other kids. The back seat is the safest place for a child, but I'm sure he'd be safer in another car.

Ouch

I'm sick today. I'm convinced it's Cholera. Never mind that neither Sara nor the doctor agrees. I'm sure it is.

Countdown To Birthday Week

Next Friday is Sara's birthday. As she puts it I usually wait until the last minute to panic, well this year I'm panicking early. Just kidding, I've got tracking numbers, so I am in good shape. Ha.

Speaking of her, I think we are on week 22. 18 more to go before baby shows up. We've painted his room, we're waiting on the furniture so things are coming together.
