Update You Say?

I had almost forgotten about this thing. I'm sure that is totally due to my lack of sleep. Thankfully I'm so tired today about all I can do it update this thing. I have a dull headache and just a general feeling of wanting to do nothing. Sounds like every other day huh?

I do state I'd like to do nothing, but I've got more to get done than I can count. Multiple big projects. Such fun.

Spencer is still doing well. I could do without the grunting and squeaking in his sleep. He'll wake me up in the middle of the night making noise, I'll get up, go check, and he will be sound asleep, just making noise. Kind of like the dog when he's dreaming about chasing something. Spencer's crib is on one side of the bed, the dog sleeps on the other side, I'm in the middle. I'm sure some nights they are having the same dream about chasing each other.

Losing Battle?

Ever feel like life is just one epic battle scene? If so, mine is portrayed by squirrels with light sabers. Yours? Spencer is still in the hospital. Now we are looking at Saturday. Nothing serious, just a better safe than sorry precaution, but still the delay is killing me.

I'm still feeling a bit under the weather with my sinus problems. Work is nuts, I've got a half million dollar project to get finished in my spare time. I've also got this pain in my right arm like I suddenly developed arthritis, is there a doctor in the house?

Only Sad Because It's True

From Joke-a-Day today:

If you surveyed a hundred typical middle-aged Americans, I bet you'd find that only two of them could tell you their blood types . . .

but every last one of them would know the theme song from the Beverly Hillbillies.

I hate to admit that I fall into that group.

Life and Other Odds and Ends

It's been a busy week or so. My grandmother is sick. The kind of sick you often don't get better from. A co-workers wife died, she was a friend, a bowling team member, and good person. She had been battling cancer for a while. We had our first birthing class. Work continues to be busy, although a few expected large contracts could show up already.

With so many things going on I find it difficult to pick any one topic. I think for days my brain was too full to even begin thinking about everything. I guess that's good. I think it is the bodies way of letting me sleep. Without it, I would have never been able to sleep. I'd have been up for hours sleeping.

I did take one interesting thing from the funeral service. The preacher was talking about the dash between the dates on a tomb stone and how that little dash represents a person's time on earth. I don't know why, but that struck me as a very deep thought. Seems amazing how much that little dash stands for.

Think Lindsay Is Getting Nervous?

First Paris Hilton, drunk driving, then jail.

Now Nicole Richie, drunk driving, drugs, and going to jail.

Can we get three out of three and send Lindsay to jail also?

Except this time, just keep her there.

Random Thoughts From the Far Side

I've had this thought in my head about a post I've wanted to write. It was this much too mushy thought about the world my son is going to be born into. It's ran from end to end. I've thought of things as serious as war, disease, terrorist and like to simple things like name brands of cars that are out of existence before he's even born.

With the heavy thoughts of the first items, it seems silly to even think about the other things, but I think the other things are what make me feel older. One that comes to mind is Southtrust Bank. It was purchased a while back and now the name is pretty much gone. Well, that was bank I had in the small town I grew up in. That was bank I used when I first moved to Huntsville. Now, it will be that bank that doesn't even exist when the kid is born. His entire life will be lived without such things as Oldsmobile, Cingular, Bellsouth, or Southtrust. Just random thoughts, but I can already see the conversation years from that will really make me feel old.

Like I said, it was random scattered thoughts, much like a conversation with Paris Hilton, except I kept my top on.

Stranger Than My CD Collection

I may have found a radio station with a more bizarre choice of music than I would put on a CD. I've always had a wide range of music that I listen to. I have CD's that will have classical, country, rap and alternative on the same CD. I never thought I'd find a radio station that had the same mix, but I think Bob has done it. Bob, that's the name of the station. I listened to 80's on the way in this morning and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" was playing on the way home. I like it.

Nothing New

I have nothing to say, I'm just posting out of some strange sense of duty to continue doing updates. Odd the things we choose to serve.

I'm glad it's Friday. It's been a long week, but some strange reason I can not say in particular why, it's just been long. I had the thought that in a week and a few days we will know what junior is. I'm still not sure if I want boy or girl. I mean that, I just want healthy. I think I'm perfectly happy with either. I'm also feeling better since I think we've been able to finally find some names for both. I was convinced for a while there that if it was a boy he would just have to answer to "Hey you".

Rain and a Random Though

It's raining today. Just in case the sudden appearance of ponds along every road and most yards were not a tip off, I thought I'd mention it.

Why when you decide to drive your Volvo and work on your Blackberry, do you decide to do it during rush hour in the middle lane of the interstate?
