Any Wonder I'm Slow Posting

Seeing the cute baby boy up there is it any wonder I've been slow posting? Yes, he's still in the hospital, but the trips back and forth to see him are taking up lots of time. I'm literally counting the days until we can bring him home. I know it's going to be lots of work, but I just want him home. He's doing well. He's eating, breathing, and pooping just fine. Given his age, I think that's all you can expect. Unlike the rest of America, he needs to gain some weight and we can bring him home.

Wish I had more exciting news, but life has been a little single focused lately.

It Was Another Tuesday

The last time I posted about a Tuesday it was a sad day. This Tuesday was as good as it gets. As you can see from above, Tuesday August 21 at 10:18 pm, Sara and I welcomed 3 lbs 12 oz Spencer to our family.

He was born early at 32 weeks, but is doing great. He's never required oxygen and was able to eat the next day. We've not been able to bring him home yet, but hopefully soon we can.

Only Sad Because It's True

From Joke-a-Day today:

If you surveyed a hundred typical middle-aged Americans, I bet you'd find that only two of them could tell you their blood types . . .

but every last one of them would know the theme song from the Beverly Hillbillies.

I hate to admit that I fall into that group.

You Go to Hell, You Go to Hell and You Die

Rarely do I develop a strong hatred for a company. Monitronics is one that I hate. Best Buy has joined the list. Sara tried to make an online payment. She entered everything correct on the website, right account number and all, but for some reason the payment did not go through. Not my fault. Best Buy's credit card website is so crappy that they require 2 days to process a payment. That sucks enough. It was 2 days before it was due, so to be safe, we paid the extra $15 for a rush payment to make sure they got it. They emailed me saying, yes, we received your payment. Sara checks the account today and they did not receive the payment. Instead they charged me the $15, plus $25 for a returned check. Kindly notice how they sent an email saying they got the payment, but not a peep saying the payment was refused. As the rude customer service representative pointed out, they published it to your online account. Yes, but you sent me an email saying you got the money, but nothing saying you really didn't.

I call and ask. They have no clue, but are so happy to point out that all the extra charges are correct and they are fully justified in making them. Fine, cancel my card, and they were more than happy to do that. Easiest card I've ever cancelled. I've had the Best Buy credit card for 10 years. it was my first ever credit card, and they rudely told me how $25 was more important than a customer, so I am thrilled not to be a customer anymore. Goodbye.

So thus starts my official boycott of Best Buy. May they lose money as fast as possible.

Life and Other Odds and Ends

It's been a busy week or so. My grandmother is sick. The kind of sick you often don't get better from. A co-workers wife died, she was a friend, a bowling team member, and good person. She had been battling cancer for a while. We had our first birthing class. Work continues to be busy, although a few expected large contracts could show up already.

With so many things going on I find it difficult to pick any one topic. I think for days my brain was too full to even begin thinking about everything. I guess that's good. I think it is the bodies way of letting me sleep. Without it, I would have never been able to sleep. I'd have been up for hours sleeping.

I did take one interesting thing from the funeral service. The preacher was talking about the dash between the dates on a tomb stone and how that little dash represents a person's time on earth. I don't know why, but that struck me as a very deep thought. Seems amazing how much that little dash stands for.

Let's Add One More

I have another name for my list of "Off To Jail With Them". Add Britney Spears. I know she hasn't been driving drunk, but if the reports are true that she asks her small child to find her lollipops and she's referring to cigarettes, then something is very wrong. Maybe she shouldn't head to jail, but at least a nice hospital with padded walls. When anyone makes Keven Federline look like a good parent, that is a problem.
