Speaking of the Government and Gas Prices

Does this list of waiting vehicles just make perfect government sense. The following describes the cars waiting to take the senators from Capital Hill to there offices, a block away after a session on the high gas prices.

"Sen. John Sununu (R-N.H.) hopped in a GMC Yukon (14 mpg). Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) climbed aboard a Nissan Pathfinder (15). Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) stepped into an eight-cylinder Ford Explorer (14). Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) disappeared into a Lincoln Town Car (17). Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) met up with an idling Chrysler minivan (18).
Next came Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), greeted by a Ford Explorer XLT. On the Senate floor Tuesday, Menendez had complained that Bush "remains opposed to higher fuel-efficiency standards."
Also waiting: three Suburbans, a Nissan Armada V8, two Cadillacs and a Lexus. The greenest senator was Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), who was picked up by his hybrid Toyota Prius (60 mpg), at quadruple the fuel efficiency of his Indiana counterpart Evan Bayh (D), who was met by a Dodge Durango V8 (14)."

Time For Change

Let me start this by saying "I miss my truck." I don't know why I feel the need to say that first, but I do, I'm weird, deal with it.

Most people would start right away talking about how excited they are about having a new Cadillac, but not me. What's wrong with me? I'm sure I'm going to love it. It is very fun to drive, 6 speed, sun roof, etc, etc.

I'll keep you updated, I love the car, but I do miss the truck. It was time for change for I guess.

Am I Seeing Double

I have no clue why my last post decided to show up twice. It just has a mind of it's own. I enjoying a work day. Can that be done?

In other news, wait, I have no other news. Ok, anyone out there figure out how to make their own gas cheap? Let me know. I think I'm going to plant some corn and start making my own Ethanol soon.

Hawaii

I'm going to Hawaii. Go ahead, hate me, I'm ok with that. You'll be hating and I'll be in Hawaii. Who's getting the better end of that deal? Over the weekend, we booked our next cruise for this fall to Hawaii. 11 days, over Thanksgiving on the Norwegian Wind. It sounds like fun to me. I'll suffer with Thanksgiving dinner prepared by cruise ship chefs. The things I must endure.

Otherwise, life is still busy. Work is busy as always. Things are the house are very busy. Everything is growing like a weed, including the weeds, so there is so much to get done.

Ahh well off to get a few things done and then head home.

A Real Post

Nope, I doubt it. Just more mindless dribble from me. I'm teaching class this week. Not that anyone cares, but the class I'm teaching has been rewritten and I'm not fond of the changes.

It appears as if this weekend we will be planning our next cruise. Hawaii here we come. 11 fun filled days in the islands. I think I can handle that. It's expensive, but it's only money and you know life was meant to be lived. I'd rather have some bills and be able to say I've seen Hawaii, that no bills and wish that I had seen Hawaii. I've loved Alaska, and all the Caribbean cruises we've been on so far. World travel, makes you a better person right?

Work as always is busy. As I've mentioned we've had a few employees leave, and now have some new starting. As much as I hate change, I have gotten used to the fact that change is a fact of life with any work situation. People come and go, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. I've figured out, life and work does go on. I've also figured out that no matter how important you are, or think you are, you can be replaced.

On more fun notes, Sara and I do need to have a house warming party at some point soon. We've been waiting for the grass to grow some and cover up the mud in the backyard. I think we are getting there, so we should be well on our way to that.

Oh yes, speaking of houses, our old house is back for sale. The older couple that bought it have it back up for sale by owner. I hope Stan never comes by to visit them. They are asking like 23K more than they bought it from us for. Good luck to them, but I don't think they will get it. That just prices that house out of the neighborhood. They've made lots of changes, but other than moving it to another location, I'm not sure they could make any changes worth that much. Funny part is our mail is still forwarded and we are getting letters from realtors offering to sell a house for us we no longer own.

I Want to be Back Here

This is a photo of Tabyana Beach in Honduras. I want my lounge chair back.

Still Here

I'm still here. I think I would be much happier had I been dropped off on a tropical island than coming back to the real world, but I guess life does go on. I've been back at home a total of like 3 days since returning from vacation. Including being gone for vacation I think I can count the number of nights I've spent at home on one hand.

I'm back now though. I've been in Kentucky finishing a project and in South Carolina cleaning up someone else's mess. Such fun, I tell you.

Hopefully I will find some time to write more soon, but life is very busy.
